The Limes (Guild Retirement Housing) - Norwich

My mother lived in Flat 20 at the Limes for nearly 12 years. Flat 20 is in a separate part of the Limes building, shared with one other flat providing privacy and quiet. She loved to spend her time in the living room of the flat which overlooks the garden and the activity in the central area of Acle town. She felt safe on the first floor yet she had easy access to the ground floor and garden via the stairs or via the elevator available exclusively for the use of the 2 flats. She had a very good rapport with the Limes staff, Michelle in particular. The staff were always friendly, helpful and efficient and she often had visitors staying overnight in the Limes guest suite. She felt at home in her flat; warm, safe and cared for.

Our Mother had three happy years at The Limes. She had a freshly cooked meal in the communal dining room most days and enjoyed the food and company. Mum was able to live independently but had the comfort of knowing help was always available should she need it.

My mum spent a wonderful period of her life at this assisted living home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place for her. She felt genuinely safe and well cared for, which gave us real peace of mind. There was always someone on site, so help was available whenever she needed it.

The availability of meals and regular cleaning made life easier and more comfortable for her, and it meant she could really enjoy her time without worrying about day-to-day chores. Most importantly, she was happy – and that means everything.

The location was a real bonus. Excellent transport links made it easy for her to stay connected with family, including convenient travel to Norwich and access to a nearby train service. The village itself had great amenities too, so she always had what she needed close by.

Overall, we’re very grateful for the care and environment she experienced. It made a real difference to her wellbeing and gave us confidence that she was in the right place.

Everyone went out of their way to help mum join the community, even in the weeks prior to her actual move. The Housekeeping Manager, to single one person out, was completely focussed on providing a bespoke service for each owner. With mum, this made a significant difference throughout. We were again able to take advantage of the on-site Guild Healthcare Team to underpin mum’s care when needed. In summary, across both Guild Healthcare and The Limes, the standout theme I want to convey is the intrinsic caring, family ethos that was front and centre in our experience.

We looked at the Limes for my Mother-in-law to move into as it is in the centre of Acle. Home cooked delicious meals made by Michelle and colleagues with different choices, daily. Owners can join in as little or as much as they like within this community. They can come and go as they please, with family always made to feel very welcome. You can sit and have a cup of tea in the lovely garden or if you fancy a short walk, there are several coffee shops. Care is always available and the Doctors, is also just up the road.

High quality environment, with very caring and efficient staff. Very good food made freshly every day, available in the dining room or can be taken in one's own apartment. Regular events throughout the year, where one can socialise, as well as the lunch times. This review refers to The Limes in Acle. We have over ten years experience of this family run organisation.

We are so pleased mum moved into The Limes. It gives her a new lease of life, enabling her to live independently, while knowing there is 24x7 support if needed. For us, her children, it is also wonderful to know she can have a full three course lunch each day and socialize with other residents, so she is never lonely. The staff are extremely caring and supportive and the kitchen staff very flexible for our mum who is gluten intolerant. The lawn and grounds are splendid and the location excellent – church, doctor, library, shops and cafés all within easy walking distance.
