Needed to move my almost end of life car on and phoned Thurston Scrap and Car Breakers, offered me a price very quickly, arranged collection, communication was great and the driver who was collecting the car arranged a time and called 20 minutes before he arrived to make me aware. He arrived, loaded, sorted the Registration Document, paid me instantly and was on his way. A great, very efficient transaction. Would definitely recommend ?

Originally very helpful and prompt reply from them regarding the doors I was after. Prices seemed reasonable then postage charges were obviously high as not controlled by them. Some damage was pointed out on rear door that I'd ordered, I appreciated their honesty and said to carry on with the postage. Money was sent via bank transfer and goods dispatched. When received by the body shop carrying out the work on my vehicle the bodyshop asked if I was aware of the amount of damage to the rear door.... pictures from the bodyshop followed. The damage I was made aware of was on the lower edge of the door, however the actual damage was most of the door was filler and resprayed by Stevie Wonder. When I enquired about a refund I was told credit note only and no refund on postage...... Now I'm not a car dealer so a credit note is of no use what so ever. At this stage I wanted to batter the door to pieces so they can't re sell it but I held my temper and returned it in the condition I received it. Now my beef is that I have a WhatsApp conversation that states a refund was offered if I wasn't happy. And the postage which they mentioned 3 times that they couldn't refund as it was beyond their control I accept...... but £50 for a door that serves no purpose to me and that amount may have come of the work being done to the car....
Needless to say they don't give a flying frick. Unless you are picking up in person which wasn't an option for me, I would avoid like the plaque. Drive to a different county and be treated with respect.
Oh yh I have pics of returned door and they haven't even bothered to contact me about it.

So on receiving a response from the owners 18 months after I placed original review, as with the rest of their replies they shun responsibility and deny all knowledge of any damage to the products sent out. If I was the only complaint then I'd assume it was just my bad luck. But when you take into account the number of unhappy customers, I hope this place is inspected by rogue traders or the likes. How they have stayed in business in the 18 months I've waited a response from them I have no idea, the sooner places like this close and make way for businesses that are honest and genuine with the public the better.
Still no refund from them as they only offered a credit note on the excuse they called a door!!!
Pics are of door I returned that was not of use to man or beast.
Please note I have restrained myself with use of language, and my god have these cowboys strained my patience

Called via a Facebook abvert, I got a quick reply and arranged to go and see the parts. Arrived and was quickly shown the parts on a car and within the hour the car was stripped and I had my parts Great price and service. I travelled 120miles round trip,and would do again for a great service.

Went over there twice recently. First time I was given prices twice much more higher than on ebay but when I proved that I was given ebay prices.
Second time it was similar but this time the owner just ignored me like air and step out of his office.
Yard boys where not really friendly too except the one foreigner chap over there.

I'm not dictating you prices that's only my opinion that's easier and less fuss to buy online with ebay protected. It's your choice that you listen or not to your customes. Market dictates prices.
I didn't have any quote over the phone but it looks like I'm not only the one not really happy here.

Wow, what can one say.....No idea of who i dealt with, but i'd certainly by him/her a pint
Only wish all breakers were as good at these, , after searching and contacting other breakers, 5 in total, to which i'm still waiting a response from 2 of them, oh and one had the cheek to offer the part more than above dealerships retail!
Anyway Saturday 10am, have you got? if so how much inc postage?

These guys had a part for my right hand drive Cadillac that I was struggling to find. They removed it from the car for me plus another bit I wanted. Part works perfectly and has saved me a real pain trying to adapt left hand drive parts from America. I highly recommend.

I understand making a profit but when they have used parts prices higher than new ones from the Mercedes Dealership, it shows greed and unprofessionalism
