My experience with Tom White Waste has been disappointing, marked by miscommunication, unfulfilled verbal promises, and a lack of timely billing. Initially, I transferred our waste services to Tom White Waste as part of a business handover from Coventry City Council. I was assured over the phone that Tom White would match the pricing and service level we previously had with the Council, which was essential in my decision to move forward.

Unfortunately, issues soon emerged. Despite my request for invoices, I didn’t receive any statements or billing breakdowns for months. It was only after reaching out in June that I discovered a significant discrepancy in the charges. The pricing did not match the initial agreement, and I was charged far more than anticipated. Throughout this process, various representatives provided conflicting responses, each refusing to honor the verbally agreed-upon rate or address the miscommunications properly.

In attempting to resolve this matter, I have encountered considerable delays and a general reluctance from Tom White Waste to take accountability for their commitments. For any business relying on consistent and transparent services, I cannot recommend Tom White Waste based on my experience. Clear and honest communication, especially about pricing, is crucial, and unfortunately, this company has fallen short on both fronts.

Our commercial waste bin hasn't been collected in two weeks, and trying to get in touch with someone via email or phone has been incredibly frustrating. No responses to emails from TW, and despite several attempts to call, I haven't been able to reach anyone after being on hold for ages. The call-back feature is completely ineffective.

I would recommend avoiding this company for commercial waste services—there are much better options locally. We originally had a contract with Coventry Council, which provided excellent service, before being misled into signing a new agreement with TW during the switch.

Been trying to call for hours as our bins not collected into 3rd week now. Will be looking to sue them my solicitors are involved. I will be cancelling my contract and taking on new provider and looking to charge them for the extra I will be paying to another company for urgent collection. Shambles of a company. We are with them more than 5 years. There was no issue. But last 2 weeks they didn’t collect the bin.
I can see the review and their response. Their response like “Good Afternoon,
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having, please let us know on [email protected] where the issue is and we will prioritise resolving this for you.
Thank you”. But when you email them there is no response there as well.

In their google search shows they open up to 5.00pm . But no answer to the call.

Same as other comments. Bin not being collected on a reliable time and date and no one answers the phone. When we did manage to speak with someone we were told we'd get a call back but no one got in touch. Poor Customer Service.

Now trying to terminate our contract of 11 years and being told that we are locked in for another 6 months is a real kick in the teeth!

Absolutely ridiculous scam of a company. AVOID AVOID AVOID. No collection of our commercial bins and when they do it’s once a month if you keep calling them. And if they answer you but it’s always oh we are having problems and so on. The only thing their punctual at is taking the money, not anymore, direct debit has been cancelled and emails have been sent but of course no response as usual. Worst company to do business with.

NEWS ON GRAPEVINE TOM WHITE IS PLANNING TO GO INTO LIQUIDATION. TAKING EVERYONES PAYMENT AND NOT COLLECTING BINS LEAVING ONE RECEPTIONIST GEORGINA BEFORE THEY SHUT SHOP AND RUN. DONT KNOW HOW TRUE BUT I WOULD STOP DIRECT DEBITS BEFORE WE LOSE OUR MONEY.

No collection for 4 weeks. Long hold on phone calls. Promised collections failed. If any businesses reading this we should put the rubbish in our car and drop it outside their offices. Charge them for the travel and valet of the vehicle for transportation of rubbish. I will do that if they fail to collect on Friday 13th as promised and document it with the local newspapers. I urge all the local businesses to collectively organise a drop of at their offices and invoice them for your costs. They have breached contract and failed to provide any communication or compensation to the clients of emerging issues inside their business. In my experience, Tom White used to be brilliant now. Totally the opposite. Unable to get through on hold for hours on end request callbacks that never come emails that don't get responded to bins that don't get collected but the money still goes out of the bank. Very very disappointed with the service and I would highly recommend using somebody else unless they sort their act out.
