Taking blood from a needle phobic can't be the easiest of tasks ..but you did it ! and rather seemlessly.

First attempt and out in under 10 mins. Excellent care by a first class health professional who was able to be empathetic and had the expertise and confidence to make all the adjustments required to get the job done.

Perhaps this will give confidence to others who feel as anxious as me about blood being taken.

Today I visited Uppingham surgery early for my 9.15am appointment and signed in then watched someone go in at 9.08am and leave so went to reception at just after 9.30am when I hadn’t been called and was told there had been an emergency and someone else required to be seen. I appreciate that these kind of situations can arise but it would have been a far better patient experience for me if one of the staff had come to me and politely told me that this was going to be case rather than allow me to get anxious about missing my appointment and me having to find out the situation from the receptionist for myself.

I visited Uppingham surgery recently and would absolutely give the medical staff 5 stars. However the way I was spoken to by the receptionist when I just called resulted in a 2 stars deduction. On my visit, the doctor (AK) had said I should have a follow up around February and the attending pharmacist (training to be a GP) should inform receptionist. I called today as it had been a couple of weeks and I had heard nothing, so I thought it had been lost in the system. I was told, abruptly (in my view) it was not lost in the system & I was on a waiting list! I was told I would hear in the new year! I was just shocked, as there is nothing anywhere in information I have access to about a waiting list. Would it not have saved a lot of time to indicate that on my NHS file?

Yesterday I had an appointment and my husband had a request at the surgery both were completed very efficiently and professionally by Dr Guram. The reception staff and pharmacy were very helpful too. An uplifting experience, thank you so much.

Made an appointment for a blood and urine test for a check (for men of my age) . The appointment was at 9.00am - I was in and out by 9.08am . Clinician was brilliant, prescription desk 1st class and efficient. Couldn’t have had better service, results available today! wow! Well done Uppingham Surgery - great job .

I have been going to Uppingham surgery for around 2 years since moving to the area. I have always been able to get a doctors appointment when needed. The receptionists are really helpful.
I’ve been for bloods on multiple occasions and all of the nurses and also my GP are lovely. Especially Wendy - she is an absolute angel and asset to the surgery.
They are always on time I’ve never been waiting more than 5 minutes.

My only slight negative comments would be the communication between appointments, referrals and next steps are not very clear but it is easier when you have the app. Secondly there are some medications which are red listed, so I’m unable to get my contraceptive FOC via the surgery - I have to buy it privately as it’s too expensive.
