Amazing spot to stay overnight. Very exposed to the weather. Wind whipped open our van door and smashed the window. Lovely local lady let us have the boot lining from her car so we could make it water tight and stay dry. Shame the cafe was closed both days. Toilet and shower spotless but you have to be super quick in the shower before your £1 runs out.

I walked The Hebridean Way backwards from Stornoway to Vatersay. When I entered Vatersay I was very glad to see this cafe, I was very hungry and wanted a cuppa. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was good, everything was reasonably priced, there was a good-sized seating area, car park, toilets, and showers. You were allowed to park up for the night or camp, honesty box on the wall of Hall. Beautiful beaches, a lovely area, my favourite bit of the walk.

We camped down the road between the two stunning beaches and paid in the honesty box. At the cafe, had a couple of jacket potatoes which really hit the spot. Couldn’t resist the cakes on display so bought a couple of slices (coffee & caramel and white choc & raspberry) with a coffee. Great service, great food.

Visited on a Sunday, had a lovely coffee before a walk around the beaches returning for lunch. Food was very tasty, with generous portions for a very reasonable price. The cafe was bustling with a great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Unfriendly welcome. I missed the no dog sign, probably because its at floor level not eye level. Was told the dog already in there was a service dog and as I said mine was a therapet, I got the cold shoulder and was ignored.

Shame. Food looked good. Shame about the ice cold welcome. What kind of community establishment, doesn't let dogs in, when they're based in a rural community? A reason not to visit vatersay.

Probably great, but closed today. Luckily the cake stall 10 minutes walk away was well stocked.
