I live nearby with my family and the smell is absolutely horrible. We moved from a city centre to give our kids the chance to play outside in the garden in a nicer and healthier environment but we cannot even open the windows in the morning to get some fresh air in the house because of the smell! It’s not just extremely unpleasant but also so damaging for our health. Something needs to be done.

The smell is disgusting, the flies in the summer is disgusting. Should be ashamed of themselves making local residents put up with this. It's making people ill and miserable.

I feel for those that live closer then 4 miles, the trash mountain they've created is making miles away stinks of sulphur, blooming stinks to high heaven all the time outside and even inside my house, making me feel ill breathing in this air. Environmental agency have been informed, and shall be notified every day until resolved.

Absolutely rancid odour in my home due to this. I live 2.5 miles away and I've never smelt anything like it! Been going on for months now! Should not be allowed in a habitable area. Dreading summer!

Vile landfill, produces a disgusting foul smell that reaches over 2 miles away. We live 2 miles away and the smell permeates our home. We can’t open windows, it’s sickening. The smell has been present every day in the winter, and is worse on cold dry days. I don’t know how people cope living right next to it. I hope it’s resolved by summer because I couldn’t imagine having washing out or letting the kids play in the garden with that smell.

This place is a total affront to all senses. It's shocking that this mountainous heap of rubbish has been allowed to grow to such a monstrous size, and with a odious stench to accompany it. The environmental agency has done sweet naff all despite multiple complaints about the health hazards that it poses. You can smell it in Radcliffe, and you can forget about going to Pilsworth Asda as the smell assaults you like a thick blanket of rotting fart even before you are on the M66. It's truly vile, it makes me physically sick. It can't be left to fester like this, something has to be done.

This place is an abomination. The stench can be smelt far and wide across Bury and Rochdale. This place is in breach of health, safety and environmental laws. We live 4.4 miles away and we can smell the stench in the morning depending on which way the wind is blowing. It smells like hydrogen sulphide, rotten cabbage and dead dog. It should be closed down with immediate effect.

One of the worst smells I've ever smelt in my life. Went to the Paper Mill at Pilsworth and almost vomited when we came out due to the stench. "Eggy" is an absolute understatement...it was more like blocked drains mixed with rotten milk?
I feel so sorry for residents in this area that have to experience this frequently.
