18 years ago when I first arrived here, it was a brilliant Practice. Full of doctors who could be seen quickly. These days it's the usual thing of ringing at 8.30 am and being way down the queue.

Appointments tend to be, if granted, with a nurse practitioner. They are skilled in their areas but lack the medical knowledge of a qualified doctor. My daughter was misdiagnosed and ended up with the wrong medication. Seeing a consultant at Crosshouse it was made clear she needed other, more appropriate, medication.

Once went in with a tick burrowing into me and was told to come back in 2 hours. It was fully embedded by then, the nurse helpfully tried to dig it out with a scalpel and the resulting wound became infected so I ended up in A&E.

Doctors are great, when/if seen. Nurses are rushed off their feet and do their best. My issue is with the management, who appear to be running the surgery at the public's expense.

More doctors needed. Make them permanent. Bring in a better system than the telephone free for all. We pay tax for a service and expect to get it.

The staff at this practice do their best but the people who own/manage it need to be removed and give the practice to people who cares about providing an efficient health service and not a money making machine. It is a ridiculous process to try to secure an appointment. 0830 in the morning and you immediately are in a telephone queue of at least 15 other poor souls trying to make an appointment. I've just hung up after bein on for 15 minutes and still not progressing (despite the message saying it's likely to be a 2 minute wait with 16 in the queue). I dialled in exactly at 0830. They brought out a system to allow you to secure an appointment at a later date (for non immediate issues) which sounds like a good option until you try to book it and are offered a date a month or so later!! They don't offer you the option to book an appointment online (unlike some other practices). Why not? It's not beyond us everyday people to manage complex diaries so why does it seem impossible to manage a diary for this business (because that's what it feels like), and worse, a business you have no real choice but to use - that's called a monopoly. Is it that there are only one or 2 doctors and yet the practice gets paid for having doctors on the staff list. The vast majority of appointments seem to be dealt with by nurse practitioners which is fine. In my experience they have been good but you can see they are very very busy! The waiting room is generally empty!!! That speaks for itself. This is not acceptable (and again, not the staff who do their best). Get this out of the management of the people who currently pretend to manage it and hand it over to professionals. And, to the Scottish Government who know about the failings of this practice and do something about this, get your act together. You only need to read reviews like this to understand what people living in the area have to deal with.

If you are sick and need to see a doctor, or if you need to book in for a medical examination - steer clear of this place. Unhelpful, rude and gossipy receptionists that like to try their hand at diagnosing you over the phone. I’m horrified to see that I am not the only patient, but I am not surprised. Even discussing my husband and his medical issues - not with him but with ME over the phone! Is that not a breach of patient confidentiality? I don’t believe I ever signed a waiver so that you could discuss private medical information with anyone else but the patient in question.
The final straw was being made to feel that I was an inconvenience for even daring to ask to see a doctor and then bringing up a past conversation to shame me. Shame on you all. Sounds like you all need to be trained in how to talk to your patients and be taught some compassion. Never had an issue with the doctors, but the reception staff need to be retrained and/or let go of.

Absolutely disgraceful excuse of a practice. 90% of the time when they send out a prescription they either send it wrong or don’t send it at all, and it you don’t call at exactly 2 milliseconds past 8:30am they refuse to talk to you and tell you to call back for absolutely no reason. Pathetic.

Dreadful practice. Absolutely no joined up thinking between admin staff and clinicians- exacerbated by being told lies about prescription being delivered to pharmacy. Appalling service and patient care.

GP thinks that Disability Discrimination is fine and put the phone down on me because I had a seizure during the phone consultation. Didn't even call back to see if I was. This is the equivalent of stepping over me and walking out of the room. I'm shocked and horrified that any Doctor thinks this is appropriate treatment of a seriously disabled patient.
