Absolutely amazing service from Paul and John.

After being turned away from New Alresford centre (at 3.45) for having a small armchair and small two seater sofa we legged it to the Bar End centre only to find to entrance gates locked, one minute to 4pm. We pulled up by the exit and Paul and John very kindly allowed us to come in to dump our furniture, they also helped to remove items our van, something the Alresford chaps very rarely do. Trying to support our local centre and stop it from closing down but think we will just use the Bar End one now, worth the drive in for such fab service. Thanks you chaps

Totally unnecessary booking system in place. Every other parking space is fenced off, so easy to park and unload.

You can do same day bookings, and book as many visits as you require. Commercial vans and any pickups do require a permit to access the site.

I would just like to thank the guys at bar end waste and recycling centre. I got stuck in traffic and arrived just before they closed. All the guys pitched in and helped me unload my van and take my rubbish to the various skips. They even when i was taking the last bits swept out the can bay. A very big thanknyou to a great team who really helped me out.

Why does the recycling centre need a booking system? For the convenience of the people working here or for better recycling? Don’t see how it helps the latter - worked perfectly well before covid, when it was brought in (understandably). To encourage recycling you need to make it easy and convenient for the user - this isn’t. With fly tipping at an all time high - this isn’t the right time for this policy. HCC reverse it please.
