My favourite part of the Lake District. There are plenty of options for camping or hotels etc. Check out reviews of places to eat as for a larger family, it will be expensive so plan a head. Consider booking ahead too, it can get super busy.
Plenty of activities are available on the lake at multiple locations.

Beautiful little village. Walkers paradise. We stopped for Breakfast here on the way to Isle of Skye. The weather was glorious and so was the scenery.

Stunning local village, we stayed in the nearby campsite, Waterside. We ate in the shop that opens into a restaurant/bar overlooking the river called the Secret Garden. Decibels try it.

Lovely to be able to visit Ullswater from Pooley Bridge and get quite close on my mobility scooter. Path a bit narrow in places and busy with dog walkers but mostly sound surface. I went further past Gale Bay as my scooter is quite robust and I had assistance: we did get 'stuck' in deep gravel! But all well worth it for the views.

The stainless steel bridge was opened on Oct 23, 2020. The original bridge was damaged and this was put in its place. This stainless steel is the 1st of its kind in the UK. It is so special that the then Prince Charles actually came to inspect this bridge. Interest fact for this little out of the way village with the same name.
