Got there and they had closed the site for a 'short while' as stated on a board outside the gate. I ended up waiting for over 30 minutes while they changed around containers etc. There should be an approximate time given so that people who use it know roughly how long they have to wait for. 5 minutes closure time is fine, 30+ minutes is not unless users know why and how long for.
The staff were friendly enough, although when asked if one of them could give me a hand taking out a couple of fridges from my car, they replied that they couldn't help lift them out, because of potentially having claims against them for damage to cars. Wouldn't it be very simple to get a customer / user to sign a waiver before they're helped with whatever needs lifting out? I could tell the guy wanted to help, but it wouldn't be worth his job if he did lend me hand.

Some grumpy people on here moaning. Staff have always been great with me. And as for wait, yes occasionally you have to wait. B
ut as for people saying a time should be given etc ? They don't know when containers will be full and need moving around, do they?

The people working here are nice and helpful. However they are not very efficient and if you turn up when they have closed the doors you can wait for ages. I’ve never known a recycling centre that does this so often and for so long. It’s a waste of hundreds of hours of peoples time every month, which makes it a very expensive service to society…

I saw some negative reviews before visiting this recycle center. I had a King size bed and mattress to dispose of. I also have a Camper van as my only vehicle.. would they let me in.. would they take the mattress. Well day 1 visit with the base I got straight in and the boss man pointed out the correct place and had a cheery disposition that put me at ease. I returned today at 3pm with the heavy mattress. Same Boss man and was interacting with good humour with other customers. Without asking he helped me with the heavy Mattress into the skip. That's a load off my mind and a load off my van. I couldn't thank him properly because he was already helping other customers that were coming in. Now that's what I call SERVICE.

A new manager here who is pleasant and helpful so upgraded from a one star review to a five star review in the hope that things are going to be much better at this tip but sadly downgraded to a three star because they failed. July 2021 upgraded again as they have finally got the message and become a bit nicer to their customers.

October 2022 Update: All this year there has been a massive all-round improvement in this recycling centre with friendly and helpful staff. Great!
