Avoid this company. When mistakes are made with precious metals they can be very costly. Both financially and also to ones reputation, particularly when wedding rings/customer orders are involved. Betts have consistently failed to deliver on quality but most disappointingly on customer service.... Or lack of it. From the staff on the shop floor to senior management I have had consistent problems. Orders have been sent out scratched and poorly finished, orders have even been completely incorrect from the items that were supposed to be dispatched. Betts have sent numerous parcels to the incorrect address even though senior management assured me that would not happen again.... Yet it has.
A awful company that will damage your reputation. I have had to let customers down as betts could not deliver on quality and service Avoid.

I have spent thousands on tools and equipment from Betts Metals, I bought a mini pickle acid bath at a not inconsiderable £120.00, after a few weeks of use it turned dark brown inside after I swapped from safety pickle to sulphuric acid, a few weeks later it started leaking acid from the bottom, it made a real mess of my workbench. I returned it to Betts, they replied that I had let it run dry (don't insult my intelligence I never let it run dry, it has a screw lid and therefore does not evaporate, it barely needs topping up weekly) and was therefore not covered under warranty, they said the manufacturer had confirmed this and it was uneconomical to repair. I demanded it was returned, when I got it back I disassembled it and to my horror I found the bottom of the plastic jar was totally detached, it had been plastic welded and the seam had failed. This was clearly a manufacturing fault! The manufacturer had never disassembled it or they would have seen the fault. Shocking behaviour by Betts they sent me a seriously dangerous acid bath and refused to take any responsibility at all. I would never use them again.

This review is on behalf of my husband John who cannot praise Betts enough. During the last few months he has purchased a number of items for hand engraving. All the sales staff he spoke to have been exceptionally helpful with product info. and dealing with his queries. All products were expertly packaged and promptly despatched and met all expectations with regard to quality and performance.

Terrible company. Initially they sent the ring in the wrong size. Following this they agreed to send me a ring in the size I ordered after I paid for delivery of the first ring back to them. They assured me that the correct ring would arrive in time for the wedding after I let them know it was essential it arrived on time.

The ring didn't arrive on time and I got a call the following Monday from Betts Metal asking me to send them more money as they had put too much gold in my ring.

TLDR: they sent a ring in the wrong size, failed to deliver the new ring in time, then made me pay extra when they made the ring too heavy. Avoid this company.

I am very surprised at some of these reviews. I have been a Customer at Betts Metals for over ten years, and have never been treated in any way other than in a respectful and friendly manner, at both the Bullion, and Service Counter. I suppose some people just love a good moan!

The bad reviews on here seem very petty. I had nothing but a great experience with Betts for our wedding rings. The rings are excellent, fantastic customer service and the best price I could find anywhere. Cant recommend highly enough.

Made an order online for abrasives. Get an email several days later to say that don’t actually have the items in stock. Selling things that you don’t have is a despicable, deceitful and hateful practice. Cancelled the whole order for messing me around.
